The registration requirement is to ensure that access is provided in a controlled environment (confidential information sharing), while mitigating any unlawful access to information deemed confidential, private or restricted.

Regulation 30(10) of the Companies Act Regulations, as amended by the General Laws Amendment Act, 22 of 2022 states: -

“(10) The Commission shall provide electronic access to view copies of the documents filed together with an annual return with the Commission as contemplated in regulation 30, to such persons and on such conditions as may be determined by the Commission, after consultation with the Minister and the Financial Intelligence Centre.”
